Yorkshire

This portfolio contains images from all corners of Yorkshire, featuring the Holme Valley, the Yorkshire Dales, Malham, Flamborough Head, Whitby, North York Moors amongst many others.

Being based in Sheffield gives me easy access to much of northern England. I travel extensively around Yorkshire focusing on the landscape and townscape of what is commonly known as ‘god's own country’. Yorkshire, being the largest county has a real mix of landscapes and rock types giving a really diverse range of photography opportunities at all times of day.

I have photographed scenes around Yorkshire for over 15 years initially focusing on the area around West Yorkshire and the Summer Wine tourist town of Holmfirth. Over the years I have spent lots of time on the Yorkshire Coastline around the seaside resorts of Filey, Scarborough and Whitby, capturing the beautiful long sandy beaches and the amazing limestone cliffs a little further south at Flamborough Head. I also regularly travel to the Yorkshire Dales National Park which continues to provide new compositions and photographic opportunities. The fascinating range of rock formations, natural features and Waterfalls within the Dales National Park have provide me with some fantastic photography trips in recent years and I aim to continue to travel to the National Park capturing more of the beautiful landscape.

A recent project to extend my coverage of the Yorkshire Coastline is nearing completion. This project focused on capturing the the beaches and cliffs running from Spurn Head to the south all the way to Staithes in the north. The coastal resorts of Bridlington, Filey, Scarborough and Whitby all offer excellent photography opportunities. I have many photographs from these areas within these photography galleries all of which can be viewed within this Yorkshire Landscape Photography Gallery. The final location on my to do list is to extend my coverage of the North York Moors National Park. This is an area I have yet to visit extensively but hope to capture some of the well known photo locations along with exploring the landscape to search out new lesser known viewpoints to create some stunning landscape imagery.
