2016 has been another busy year for my photography business which has seen another period of growth throughout the year. My British Landscapes Calendar with an increased print run sold out just before Christmas again this year with lots of positive feedback from recipients worldwide. Ambleside Christmas Light Photography - December 2016

On a visit to the Lake District last week I took the opportunity to take a look at and photograph the lovely Christmas lights in Ambleside. I spent around 3 hours walking the streets trying to find compositions which worked. Ambleside have done a great this year and the village has a really festive feel and I thoroughly enjoyed the evening before heading back down the M6 to Sheffield.

Photographing Waterfalls on the Ingleton Waterfalls Trail

One if the items on my long list of locations to visit this summer was a return visit to the waterfalls in the Yorkshire Dales around Ingleton. I've previously briefly visited the Thornton Force waterfall after a morning on Twisleton Scar and have since then wanted to take a better look at the the other waterfalls on the Ingleton Trail. There are many places to photograph on the route but I have tried to stick to photographs of the main falls for this roundup.

Photographing the Norfolk Coastline - Summer 2016

I was recently in Norfolk for an annual family gathering and was able to extend the trip a little this year to visit a few previously unexplored areas and capture a few images of the beautiful Norfolk coastline. The best evening of the trip photographically was an evening spent on the Cromer promenade capture the beach and pier with stunning evening light illuminating the beach and famous pier.

Christmas time in Whitby - Yorkshire Coastline in Winter

Over the Christmas period I spent a week with my family in the seaside town of Whitby on the Yorkshire Coastline. It's the first time I have been to Whitby so was really looking forward to visiting the sights and photographing the coastline in the many conditions experienced throughout the week. 2016 Calendar update - Full range of Landscape Photography Calendars

Last year my national parks calendars sold out towards the end of November and my main British Calendar around the 10th of December. I still have good stocks of my British Calendar but am now beginning to run low on the Lake District, Peak District and Cornwall Landscape calendars.

June Countryfile Magazine features double page spread of my Crantock Beach photograph

One of my favourite Cornwall photos is featured as a double page spread on the very prominent pages 6 & 7 of the June issue of Countryfile Magazine. The shot from Crantock Beach in Cornwall was taken a couple of years ago on a beautiful early summer's evening looking out down over the beach with the tide two thirds of the way out exposing the huge sandy beach.

Winter Photography in the Cairngorms National Park

I spent 4 days last week up in the Cairngorms with friends staying in Aviemore, this was mainly a trip to catch up with friends and ski at Cairngorm Mountain but I did manage to get the camera out on a couple of occasions to capture the beautiful snowy winter landscapes. Have a week off work meant I had a little spare time get out into the countryside walking directly from my house in Hillsborough up to the beautiful Peak District near to High Bradfield.
