Lake District
The Lake District is one of my favourite locations for landscape photography and is the national park I continue to return to on a frequent basis in order to capture the lakes and mountains in all of the 4 seasons. The English Lake District has everything that a landscape photographer or artist needs in a location and has never disappointed when I have visited. Even on the frequent rainy Lakeland days there are photo opportunities to be found if you hunt out for the details in the landscape. This picture gallery contains my favourite images from recent years and I continue to update new images to this collection throughout the year.

Water in the natural landscape is my favourite subject matter, there is nothing better than to be out at crisp autumn morning at dawn capturing the reflections in a perfectly still lake or tarn. I am also on a mission to visit and photograph all of the waterfalls in the Lake District, a big task but an enjoyable challenge. I tend to visit the Northern Lake District most frequently usually staying in Keswick which has easy access to photograph the surround lakes including Derwent Water, Bassenthwaite Lake and over the Newlands Pass to Buttermere. The drive down the side of Derwent Water into Borrowdale is one not to be missed and there are many images in this gallery from the surrounding fells.
My year calendar often features images from the Lake District. My blog post Photography Tour of the Lake District is one of the most popular pages on my site and gives guidance on the locations of the some of the landscape photos in this Lake District gallery.
