Ashness Bridge overlooking Derwent Water Keswick & Skiddaw

Ashness Bridge is a famous and romantic view point and has appeared in many paintings and more recently photographs in Lake District travel guides and is a popular contender for the finest view in Lakeland. The traditional stone built bridge on the single track road from the Borrowde Road to Watendlath can carry a single car at a time as shown in this photo of the moving vehicle travelling over the bridge. A popular stop for families on the way from Keswick to Watendlath, just up the road is Suprise view. The Skiddaw Mountain range with a summit at 931m sits prominently in the background behind the Lake District town of Keswick in the Northern Lakes.
